Women and the pensions disparity

This has always been a bone of contention and rightly so, as it is often the woman who gives up her career in order to look after the family. She therefore has to break her normal working career pattern and her pension benefits, while the children are growing up. In the case of divorce this can and often does put the woman at a great disadvantage, as she has no husband to support her in older age and often no pension of her own.
